Farrah Kherani is a Registered Social Worker in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers along with the Ontario Association of Social Workers. Farrah holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Social Work degree from Wilfrid Laurier University.
Farrah’s formal training stems from her extensive work with individuals facing mental health challenges such as schizophrenia, anxiety and depression. Farrah’s personal experience with loss and as a primary caregiver compliments her knowledge and understanding of the challenges and compassion fatigue faced by individuals in a similar role.
Farrah believes in the importance of cultivating a good therapeutic relationship between herself and her clients as this is fundamental to effective therapy. Her genuine, warm and supportive nature provides clients with a safe and comfortable space and to open up with issues that can sometimes feel daunting.
Farrah works from person-centered, strengths based and non- judgmental perspective that is flexible and adaptive to the needs of the client. Her approach is eclectic and includes ways to help clients recognize and work through limiting beliefs, negative patterns, uncomfortable thoughts and feelings, as well as, view issues from different perspectives and develop new, healthy and interactive ways to live their lives with balance and better their relationships. Farrah believes that each individual has their own unique life story and journey. Her philosophy is that through self awareness one can find their authentic self, build resiliency and find balance in their emotional, mental and physical well being.
