Hilary is a Registered Social Worker (RSW, MSW) and graduate from the University of Windsor, Ontario (2013). Hilary obtained her Bachelor of Social Work (Honors) as well as her Bachelor of Arts (BA) Degree with Major in Social Development Studies (SDS) both from the University of Waterloo, Ontario.
Hilary works with individuals & relationships. Her practice is a fusion of anti-oppressive, culturally sensitive, strengths-based, holistic, bio-developmental-neuroscience and arousal regulation approaches. It is Hilary’s goals to create safety and security within one’s own relationship and to introduce new styles of communication and strategies for greater emotional regulation. Hilary positions herself in the work of Dr. Stan Tatkin’s PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy) and is an active student of his learning, having now completed level 1. Hilary will begin Somatic Experience training in June 2021 and elaborate on the healing experiences of the body, nervous system and remapping of trauma for those clients who wish to begin the discovery of healing in a therapeutic relationship.
Hilary brings the following therapeutic approaches to her sessions: attachment style, cognitive behavioural therapy, compassion focused therapy, dance and movement therapy, interpersonal and mindfulness based therapies, positive psychology, solution focused therapy. Hilary’s areas of therapeutic interest include life transitions, anxiety, depression, self image, divorce/separation as well as end of life and caregiver fatigue. Hilary would be honoured to work with you or your network in a compassionate, evolving and expansive integral way, dedication in the area of a holistic approach to care.
Further to this, Hilary situates herself within west and eastern modalities having deepened her own roots in holistic health. Hilary has situated herself within the knowledge of Ayurveda, traveling to Kerala, India and deepening her own meditative and spiritual practices. Hilary acknowledges that by living in harmony, simplifying life and embodying of one’s own map and calling, trust in self can begin to cultivate emotional awareness, expansion and growth. Hilary has been a long time student of Kripalu Centre for Yoga and Health, certified Vibrational Sound Healing (VSA), Dance “Your Yoga” Certification and Body Work.
