Michelle is a Registered Social Worker with MA in Spiritual Psychology with over 20 + years of experience in mental health counselling, psychotherapy, along with organizational and digital wellness.
Michelle recognizes the courage it takes to seek support and is privileged to be a part of the healing journey. She understands the value of creating a safe space where clients feel supported, encouraged and empowered. Michelle has worked in roles such as clinical coordinator, mental health therapist and staff and physician wellness leader within hospitals, university, government, community mental health settings and in private practice. Additionally, Michelle has held mindfulness meditation workshops globally.
Michelle specializes in clients seeking support with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, life transitions, women’s health, interpersonal issues such as low self-worth and peer conflict and workplace balance. She also specializes in organizational transformation and teaching corporate leaders mindful leadership coaching. Michelle is passionate about empowering her clients when transforming their lives and relationships.
Michelle utilizes a variety of approaches to best suit the individual as she believes each individual should be approached with a unique therapeutic experience. To honour the individuality of her clients’ background, goals and strengths, Michelle uses the following evidence-based modalities: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and Trauma-Informed Care. Michelle also incorporates Transpersonal Psychology, Gestalt Therapy or a psycho-spiritual approach to healing.
Michelle is a Registered Social Worker, (RSW) with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, (OCSWSSW), a member with the Ontario Association of Social Workers, (OASW), the Canadian Association of Social Workers, (CASW) and the Canadian Society for Spirituality and Social Work, (CSSSW).
Her joys in life are travelling with her best friend and husband of 20+ years and my beautiful teenage daughter. She looks forward to snuggling up with her daughter most evenings talking and watching a good movie, relaxing by the local pond with the family dog Lyla and her husband. Michelle also loves a good wine and is currently studying for her certification as a Sommelier.
